{portraits: sleeves in a sleeveless town}

 Sometimes you get the opportunity to do something COMPLETELY different. This was mine. It is a recent tradition that the interns at Charleston Magazine work together to create their own magazine, called TheIN. (for our portfolios and for the experience) One of the features in our magazine is called "Sleeves in a Sleeveless Town" exploring the tattooing culture in the holy city and highlighting some individuals and their ink. A coworker and I met up with them at a local burger shop\bar called Big Gun. (This place is great, you should definitely check it out if you are in Charleston.) She interviewed and I photographed, as well as eavesdropped on their answers. The stories behind each of these peoples tattoos are amazing, I could've listened for hours. For example, the last picture: he gets a bike cog tattooed on his leg each time he gets hit by a car on his bike. Yep you counted right...he's gotten hit 10 times and counting.
